PentaBase volunteers to test refugees on the border of Europe!
PentaBase is on Samos, Greece, to volunteer in assisting the Hellenic/Greek government. The PentaBase team in collaboration with AnaChem Diagnostics and METAdrasi assists in providing #PCR tests for the refugees in the newly established camp on Samos. This initiative aims to isolate positive cases to decrease the risk of spreading COVID-19 in Greece and potentially the rest of the EU.
Our highly sensitive test enables the EU to detect and monitor the development of variants and mutations of COVID-19. Our efforts are an important step to safeguard the European borders and protecting the EU member states from a potential surge in positive cases caused by new developments of the virus.
We are proud to help the Greek government and the EU with our sensitive and precise PCR tests. We believe that our effort will make a difference for the many refugees on the borders of Europe, the local community, and the European project. We hope that the new camp on Samos will be a stepping stone for other parts of the world to initiate similar efforts to this ambitious approach of COVID-19 risk management.
We thank Notis Mitarachi, Minister of Migration & Asylum, Panagiotis Arkoumaneas, President of the National Public Health Organization, and Manos Logothetis, General Secretary of Reception of Asylum Seekers – without whom this collaboration would not have been possible.
