Antibody Test at PentaBase
Using an Enzyme-Linked immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) and a blood sample from a person, it is possible to detect the presence of antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, the virus behind COVID-19.
We use a venous blood sample and measure the presence and/or quantity of anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgM and/or IgG antibodies. Antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 indicates that the person is vaccinated for, has been or is currently infected with the virus. Antibodies for a disease-causing microorganism/virus will give full or partial protection against the disease from months to years.
Quantitative IgG antibody test detects levels of IgG antibodies that are ready to attack the SARS-CoV-2 virus in a person who has been infected by the virus previously or been vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2.
The qualitative test provides a better understanding of people´s immune responses to the virus, which includes the potential duration of the recovery process. The quantitative antibody test can determine both the presence and levels of IgG in the blood.
The first vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 has been obtainable since the end of last year. Distribution of COVID-19 vaccines around the world has begun, and several vaccines are designed to activate the immune response for the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2. SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibody test measures levels of IgG antibodies to help measure and understand a person’s immune response. In General, higher levels of IgG mean better protection against the virus.
At PentaBase, we want to allow you to understand your immune response to the vaccination. We have made it possible to book an appointment to get a quantitative ELISA-test in Herlev or Odense, which give you the possibility to understand your IgG level for a new infection if you have been previously infected or received the vaccination. Two other ELISA tests are also available.
The service is three-parted, which means you can combine all three offers or choose one of them.
You need to pre-book an appointment to get an ELISA-test. One blood sample is enough for all three services. The tests are currently only conducted at our test facilities in either Herlev or Odense.
Antibody test, IgM travel certificate (Required by the Chinese government)
A negative IgM test is a requirement for travelling to China.
This antibody test determines the presence of IgM in the blood. The presence of IgM indicates a current or recent infection.
The test is performed by drawing a venous blood sample. You will then receive your test result and a travel certificate (if negative).
The qualitative IgG/IgM test
The qualitative antibody test can determine the presence of IgG/IgM in the blood.
The presence of IgG/IgM indicates a current or previous infection of SARS-CoV-2
The test is very sensitive and highly reliable.
The quantitative IgG tests
Understand your immune response to the vaccines or previous infection,
The quantification of IgG can be helpful to evaluate a person´s immune response and to optimize vaccination.
Children above the age of 15 can get tested with a venous collection of blood. All testing is conducted voluntary and without the use of any force. Children under the age of 15 can have their sample taken from the finger. Please be aware that samples from fingers might not be acknowledged for travelling to China.
