Fast, Simple and Objective Microsatellite Instability Analysis
The analysis is performed with five microsatellite loci performed in individual wells. This means that the assay is configured as a 5-well PCR strip. For paired samples (tumour DNA and normal uninvolved DNA from the same patient) the analysis needs to be run with two 5-well strips (one with tumour DNA and one with normal DNA). This means that the BaseTyper™48 with 48 wells can analyse 4 patients in each run (2x4x5-well strips).
For unpaired samples (tumour DNA from patient compared to a universal reference), the analysis is run with a single 5-well strip. However, each PCR run needs to include a 5-well strip with a universal reference. This means that the BaseTyper™48 can analyse 7 patients in each run (7x5-well strip with patient DNA and a single 5-well strip with universal reference).
